Membership Config best practices

I'm wondering if anyone can share what they have set up on a membership on Renewal Information tab?  I'm specifically wondering how many Letters you have specified.  We currently only have 1, and I'm wondering if we need to break it down for Cards or Stickers (we send stickers in lieu of new cards for renewals at the same category), Upgrades, Downgrades, etc.?


Am I thinking about this correctly as cards being what RE terms "Letters"?


The other thing I've noticed is that it appears this wasn't set up after our last upgrade.  So would that explain why we can't specify a change to where cards are sent to?

  • I don't know how big your membership program is or if that even matters... I try to use if, then, else... fields in the letter to personalize rather than setting up many different letters. By doing this you can change the language for renewals to say something different than for welcoming new members.
  • Do you have several different letters or just one in this location?


    Without this being set up right now, we spend a lot of time having to manually track where the letters are going (the donors or the recipient).  And if someone calls and wants to make a change, that is a challenge as well.  So we're trying to figure out if we set up a handful of letters, if this will allow up to better track where the letters and stickers have been sent.
