How to show gift comments on the acknowledgement email/confirmation page?

I have looked all over and can't seem to find a way to show the comments from the gift on the confirmation page or the acknowledgement email.   Does anyone know how to do this?

The fields you can add to the confirmation page and acknowledgement email are painfully limited. There is no way to add the field for 'gift comments'.

After doing some research I have found the best way to accomplish this is to add an Attribute to the donor form.  because we still have NetCommunity I am using the NetCommunity Comments attribute that we alread have set up.  This also puts the comments into one column in batch instead of adding another column for the Online Express comments, which I really like.  Once I add it I can reword the narrative that shows on the donor form. Then the comments will show on the confirmation page and the emailed acknowledgement. 


It is so nice to not get emails from donors ensuring that we received their note. I can see the value in not including the comments as mandatory with the gift information. I will continue to use the attribute field even if they choose to add the OLX comments to the donor part. So now that I understand how to do it, I like to have the option to include it or not.
