Best practices for importingwealth capacity info from another database into RE

Options
We engaged the services of a wealth capacity screening company to help identify prospects before we head into a campaign. The link to their database is for one year after which this vast information source will no longer be available. Aside from information about top prospects, there must be other information that we want to capture about our general membership. I'd be interested in hearing from anyone with experience with this.  What info did you retain for the future? What info do you wish you had retained?

  • Hi, Jenny,

We recently completed a different sort of screening that concentrated on gift likelihood, but hopefully some of this will be useful to you.  Can you download your results to port into RE? We stored the capacity ratings with a special source label in the Ratings section of the RE. This is helping us to do exports of the information that include more detailed relationship and giving data than the vendor-provided summaries.

At another organization, we had a screening done by an outside vendor (WealthEngine) while we were using Agillon One as our database. The results that didn't come over that I would have wanted later were:
    • properties,
    • businesses, and
    • past giving.
I hope that you got some great insights!

  • Hi Sheri,

Thanks for your advice. I suspect that the Ratings tab is part of the Prospect Module. I discussed a work-around with a consultant and we're going to import prospect informaition into Attributes using Prospect Status and Wealth Capacity. I'm going to take your advice about noting properties. It turns out our wealth screener can filter on real estate so I'll look for second homes in our area.

    Thanks and best wishes,

    Jenny
  • It is indeed part of the Prospect module, which helpfully has little spots for financial information and giving. I'm glad that you're finding some workarounds!
