Online Express email marketing general help

Options
Hi everyone

Just getting to grips with OLX for the first time and am moving our email markting from mailChimp to OLX.

Am a little frustrated by the lack of documentation other than basic videos so hoping a look through here will help me.

For now, does anyone know if there is a good "help" resource I can look up?

Also is it possibel to edit the email campaign footer details anywehre?

Thank you

  • Hi Neil!

You should check out the New Customer Success Program - specifically the webinar Email Marketing 101. It walks you through the steps to create an email and some helpful tips and tricks. You will also have a chance to ask any questions that might not be addressed.

  • I would also suggest scrolling thru the OLX section of the Community as well as the OLX Idea Bank.  Just pay attention to the dates on posts, especially in the Idea Bank, because sometimes the Idea has been addressed (implemented or dismissed as not feasible) and the post doesn't get updated.

Also, a caution...pull your unsubscribes from MailChimp and Import them to RE with either a different Phone Type or the Inactive Phone checkbox checked, because OLX doesn't know who unsubscribed from your MailChimp list unless you tell it.  And if your org is like mine, you could have emails already in RE that were unsubscribed in MailChimp, or you could have well-meaning staff/fundraisers add emails to the database that are unsubscribed.

Personally, I do not use the Preferred or Inactive boxes in 7.95 and instead use additional Phone Types for inactive email addresses.

We have eHome, eHome2, eWork and then XeHome and XeWork...the first three are setup in OLX, and the last two are to indicate addresses that have been unsubscribed or hard bounced.  The DNC symbol indicates to users/fundraisers when they should carefully consider using that email address to contact the constituent--and hopefully refer them to the Notes to find out why that symbol has been activated.  I like the X Phone Types over the Inactive checkbox, because it means the addresses are always visible, and therefore can't be accidentally added as a duplicate Phone...and we put this system in place long before 7.95.
