Info-graphics in Donor Reports

Options
Hello,

We are currently producing our first Annual Donor Report, following the launch of our telethon last year. We want to include some info graphics in the report, to keep readers engaged and so they can get quick grasp of all our fundraising. As we will be reporting on all fundraising within the school and not just the telethon.

At the moment we have come up with the below:

Oldest and youngest donor ages
Giving by year group (where known)
Number of new donors
Number of new bursary places funded
Proportion of funds donated to each 'pot' (bursaries, academic, area of greatest need etc)

Giving by region/area of country

Total gift aid amount
Giving by area of employment/industry
Longest running donation
Ways donations have been made (phone, online, post)
Number of calls made during campaign
Participation rate

Does anyone else have any suggestions what we could inculde?

Thanks,

Maya

    Congrats on your telethon.

In my opinion, if you want to "keep donor engaged" I don't know that I'd include much more.  While some of us really get into the numbers, many of us have very little interest in the numbers.  And if participation rate is not high/met a goal, I don't know that I'd include it.

To me, we focus communication to donors on how their gift
    1. benefitted them personally

    2. benefits/makes a difference for neighborhood/community/city/university community

    3. how their gift benefits the org

Defining the diffence can be just a matter of symantics but this concept really struck me when I heard it as being solid.

    Hi Maya,

Infographics are awesome - they definitely make dry information easier to digest. I do want to echo JoAnn and recommend that you keep your information donor-centric.  They probably don't care how many phone calls you made, or how many donations came in online, but they will care how their dollars are having an impact: how many students were impacted, how many program hours were funded, a word bubble with words used by grateful students.

That being said, here are a couple of websites that have pulled together some beautiful reports you might take inspiration from:

  • Hi Amy,

Thank you so much for the links you provided, this was just the kind of thing we were looking for!

    Thanks again!
