End of Year Tax receipt

Options
Ok, I was able to create an end of year tax receipt for each constituent in 2014 with a summary of their gifts and receipted amount. Unfortunately I don't remember how I did it. How do you provide an itemized end of the year tax receipt to your donors, if this is something thatyou do?

Did you use the Reports > Financial > Annual Statement Report?

You asked if we do it - we don't but I know other orgs do.
  • Reports --> Finaicial Reports --> Annual Statement.
  • Does anyone know how to pull all of that information into a customised layout? Do you essentially do the same as a customised mail merge and just add all the required fields? Is there an easier way to do that at all?
  • Unfortunately because of the one-to-many (one constituent, many gifts) it can't be done through a "simple" export and use Word to do the merge.  You have to use something like Access.
  • I did set up a customized receipt four years ago (since the canned version wasn't right for me) and continue to be successful with it.  I think I can print up to 12 gifts per constituent, but I'd have to go over it again in detail to see.  There is a field limitation, but I also know to check on any individuals who might have exceeded the limit.  There are extremely few of those, and I can just manually add the extra gifts.  Not even sure I've needed to do so yet.

It's an export with a Word merge.  I got some tech support help with it from RE at the time.

Please let me know if you'd like more assistance with this, and I'll investigate mine further and send you what I can.

  • We do annual tax receipts.  I export the data from RE and use MS Access to manipulate the data how we want it, and then a mail merge to MS Word.
