Membership module integration

Good morning, Here's my dilemma:

Donor A - gives donations every year - sometimes in their name - sometimes in a local chapter's name. So, I have two chapters who periodically receive "GIFTS OF MEMBERSHIP" to our Cornerstone Society. 

I need to link the historical gifts for the last three years. 

2012- gift of membership to A

2012 - donor membership

2013 gift of membership B

2013 gift of membership B

2014 donor membership

2014 Gift of membership A

2014 Gift of membership A

2015 Gift of membership B



Do I go through year by year starting with 2012 donor membership? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Have you considered soft-crediting the organization?  For my organization, we do not have a membership module, our work around was to create a pledge in the organization and who-ever paid the membership - in this case "Individual A" - apply the gift to the organization's pledge.  Depending on how you pull a report, you should be able to retrieve membership payment and well as donation information.
