Duplicate Registrants

I am aware that if an invite list is imported into the Events Module and then someone on that list registers for the event via the Online Express events form  that a duplicate entry will appear in the Events Module (I believe this issue is being addressed). What has me bewildered is that both this entry, and the entry that came from the imported list, both show as "registered". My assumption would have been that the entry that was a part of the imported list, where the default was specified as  "not registered" would not have changed. Now I have duplicate where both are showing as registered. Can someone explain what is causing this situation? Thank you very much.

  • Have the same problem with events that are running right now. We rely on that registered count for many things and it is a hassle to go in and remove one of the registrants!
  • It's not really an answer to your question, but at my organisation we never register "invites" to the event. Only people who register or attend the event are registered to the event. Otherwise the list of invites for every event is too long (more than 5000 people on average are invited to each event). And also, if I want to export a lot of information about persons (using an Export, instead of a Query Export, if you know what I mean), then I also want to export the events these people registered to (and eventually attended). If I register all the invites to the events I will have 50+ events at every constituent in my database and then I can not give a good overview of a constituent when exporting its summary information to an Excel file.



    For registering invites to an event I use the Action Tab.
