I am looking to send an email to just our Faculty and Staff so I am trying to just pull their work email... I created queries that pulled that specific type but then when I send the email it sends to emails other that what were in the query. Why is that and how can I just email to certain ones?

  • At present, I believe the only options are the following:



    If the Phone Type is specific to a work email (i.e. we have eHome and eWork as Phone Types for email addresses), then you can change the OLX settings to only use the work email, send your message, and then set it back as it was/is now.



    You can go thru each record in the query and check "Inactive" or "Do Not Call" on the other emails, send your message, and then go back and restore them.



    You can create intentional duplicate records for each person, with only the work email on the duplicate record, and tag those records in a way that your query for your OLX list will pick up the dupe records instead of the real ones.  Then you have your list of only the specific addresses you want.  If you push your data from OLX to RE, those appeal tags will then go on the dupe records, not the real ones, so you can either use the Merge function to move Appeals from one to the other, or you can create Relationship links between the two constituent records, and know that the dupe records only contain the work email address and associated OLX appeals.



    Hopefully, someone else will have a better solution, but these options are the only ones I can think of...and I explored when we first started using OLX a year ago, because I was finding the same thing when sending test messages.
