Demographics etc. from BBIS to BCRM.

Options
Is there anyway to get BBNC to gather demographics, event restrictins, SS number and interests and write them to BCRM? This could be a direct write or in batch. We currently get personal information only.

  • There is some additional biographical information that you can capture using the Profile Update Form in BBIS. There is a larger set of BBCRM fields exposed here. This requires users to login to the system.

The Survey Part could be used for non-logged in users.

What would be some examples of other information? Would you be capturing these on a donation or other online transaction?
  • So in my original question, I listed some examples of data we might like to collect. Are you saying those are now available in the update form?

    Hi Nancy,

The profile update form in BBIS (note - this is the one accessed under Site Explorer-->Forms, not the profile update form part in the part list) does allow for more fields, but it still does not include every possible field in BCRM. Many times, it really depends on where you are storing this info in BCRM.

    In your post, you mentioned:

-Demographics - typically these are stored in BCRM as constituent attributes, and all constituent attributes can be added to a profile update form. Some of them that are first class CRM fields are not available via the profile update form.

-Event restrictions - cannot be updated via the profile update form.

-SS number - not available via profile update form

-Interests - can be added to profile update form.

As Steve mentioned, you do have to be logged in and have your account tied to a constituent record in order to access the profile update form. In some situations, we will use constituent attributes and use a global change to move the data automatically to its final home via a scheduled process once it's in CRM.

    Thanks,

  • The number one field I am looking for today is ethnicity. In the constituent record in BCRM it is stored under demographics. We have looked at the update profile form and the field(s) we want to collect are not there. Although that is where we would have expected them to appear.

I hesitate to use attributes. Currently there is no way to make them site specific nor can you inactivate them when they are no longer valuable.
