How to I take pages offline without deleting them?

I have thousands of pages on my website, most of which are not linked to, or not in use. Is there a way to make them offline or do I have to delete them?



If there is a way, can I do many at a time (like an entire folder)?

You can adjust the security on the templates. If the old pages are based on a template you do not use any more you can update that templates security and that has the effect of applying that security to all of the pages based on that template. Usually you untick all options and save - only site admins will then be able to see the pages.
