When I insert a PDF it shows up in the preview but it didn't show up in the test email I sent myself.

I am trying to insert a large PDF file into my email template to send. It will not upload through images saying it is too large, but I am able to copy and paste it into the template. The email as I designed it is previewing the way I want it to but does not come through when I send it through the test email. Suggestions?
