Who is in charge?

Options
We are reorganizing staff responsibilities and I'm interested in learning more from other smaller higher education institutions that utilize RE and NetCommunity. Currently the advancement records staff processes NetCommunity transactions including donations and event registrations and only works within the RE. Alumni Relations staff utilize Spark to send emails and event forms and pages.

Currently all Advancement Records and Alumni Relations staff have administrator credentials but we do not have any one person assigned as an administrator of NetCommunity or Spark and are considering changing that.

I am interested to learn how other institutions handle this issue. Who is responsible for what? Is there any one person at your institution that understands the entire process? Is there anyone in charge of managing both RE and NetCommunity?

  • I'm not higher ed, but we have a similar set up. As a general rule, I would definitely suggest restricting access to only what is needed. Our DBA is also the BBNC administrator.
