Photos not displaying in Outlook 2010

Options
Our organization is creating email campaigns with online express. When we send an email, the photos will not display in our inboxes. We use Microsoft Office 2010. We do get the pop-up at the top that asks if we want to display photos and even after selecting yes, the photos do not display. The email displays with a blank hole where the photos should be. The photos do seem to be displaying in other email clients such as gmail.

Right now, I've been uploading photos to Dropbox and selecting them from that file to insert into the emails. Do we need to be uploading the photo files somewhere different for these emails? If so, where?

Hi Diana. There isn't anything special you need to do around uploading images - I suspect the issue here could be as simple as your internal email system is blocking certain types of images, your IT folks may be able to help with that.

I'll send you a follow up email to get some more details.
  • I'm having the same problem.

Images show up fine on my phone, but some (not all) do not display in Outlook.

  • John, unfortunately, between firewalls, email providers, and Outlook settings, several things can end up blocking your images within the office.

Since you can see some images, try the following:

    1) Close Outlook.

    2) Clear your Internet Explorer cache. Go to Tools->Options->General->Browsing history->Delete, choose to delete temporary files.

    3) Go to the Advanced tab, scroll to the Security group, uncheck "Do not save encrypted pages to disk"

    4) Close Internet Explorer. Try Outlook again.
  • I know this is an older post, but is there really nothing that can be done?

I'm highly concerened as the majority of our donor email address are work address, which would mean that if emails can't get from OE to outlook, we can't use it to send emails.
