Exporting Ratings from Prospect

Options
Hello all

I'm setting up some new Prospect reports and want to export specific Ratings by Category rather than by Source. Problem is, RE will only permit filtering of Ratings by Source in an Export.

Has anyone found a workaround for this other than the Knowledgebase suggestion of cleaning it up in your output (which is not very useful if it's writing direct to Crystal or Tableau).

Many thanks

  • Hi Gina

Yes, that certainly does. Thanks for highlighting it. Only 12 votes at the moment - including mine - which is surprising.

  • James - I have issues with the IdeaBank in that there are so many ideas out there and they're not really organized/categorized in a very useful way.  So other than using 'search', I don't know of a way to really effectively find what's already been posted.
    • Who has the time to really peruse what's already been posted?
    • I think at one point Blackbaud did do a consolidation and try to merge in 'like' posts -- but there's still so many out there.
    • But I can't say I have any ideas about how to improve this, either.
    • If there's an idea I'd like to promote, I will try to 'advertise' it through a post with a link to the idea - and ask people to vote.
I did a vigorous IdeaBank campaign a while back on behalf of a user group I belong to, and we were able to get a significant enough jump in votes to get Blackbaud's attention so we did get some responses back from them.  So they are out there monitoring in some fashion.
  • Here's another Discovery entry on essentially the same topic with a few more votes:  http://rediscovery.uservoice.com/forums/137015-raiser-s-edge-discovery-topics/suggestions/2910133-ratings

    Sadly
there has been almost ZERO activity there from Blackbaud in recent months, and what little activity there has been in the past year has all been geared toward the mobile app and not RE.  There are only 4 items listed as a "Current Discovery Effort" and the MOST RECENT of those were last updated in February of 2014!!
  • Like all other solutions it's not ideal, but I found that, depending on your reporting needs, in Crystal you basically query for the ratings you want by using subreports. Use the selection formulas in the subreports to only pull the ratings you're looking for.

It's clunky but it can work OK--again, depending on your needs.

Many of us have struggled with this issue. As James said, the only way I have found is to export more information than I need and filter it through a Crystal report.
  • I'm going to export them via a query, then use vlookup formula in excel to bring them back into my file by matching on the constituent id.  This is crazy that there are so many things limited like this.
