Appeal Limiter / Warning

Hi all, apologies if i am breaching any forum rules, this is my first post.



We have received a request to limit the number of appeals or mailings to 4 per year per constituent.

is it possible for RE to display the number of appeals/mailings sent on each record (perhaps in the Bio tab) sent between a defined time period (12 months, Current year etc...) then use this information when querying / exporting / reporting.

Hi Kris,



You could create a constituent query and use the summary information to identify anyone with total number of appeals >=4 (you can add filters to look at only particular appeals or dates), and then use this as the second query in a merge query with the SUB operator to remove these constituents from any mailing-related query you produce. Sorry if I haven't explained that very well!



You could also create a business rule using this query, to display a message warning the user when the constituent record is opened.

Hi Kristian,

If you segment (tab 7) the mail run in RE:Mail, you can add the appeal and package to each constituents appeal tab who was included in your initial query.  This would enable you to run future mailing queries based on the number of mailings each constituent has received and provide more flexibility to exclude them once they've reached the quota.   It's also helpful to clearly define your mailing schedule on a calendar or fiscal year basis so you can strategize each mailing and be more specific on the segmentation for each recipient receiving it.
