Updating RE with data from external sources

I would like to hear from church ciocese offices as to how they update their database each year to match parish member files.  At present, our  system is very cumbersome and not at all efficient.  Most of it is manually done, just comparing their list to ours.  and we need a better way to update new members, deceased members, etc.  It's a small, two person office, and we're more out of date than we ought to be with these updates!  Any bright ideas out there?  Thank you!

We have dozens and dozens of outside lists coming in constantly from all of our properties. We've found the best solution for us was ImportOMatic. It cut down on dupes signnificantly over manual entry, and has saved us oodles of time. I know an add-on is probably not what you were looking for, but it has been worth every penny for us.



(We aren't a church...I should have mentioned that. But data is data, kind of)
