Recurring Gift Payments Transfer

Hi,

I have a situation where due to a change in procedures we have discovered that the Recurring Gift and the payments thereon have been incorrectly applied to a son's record  when they should have been applied to the father's record, both have the same initial so it was not spotted when it first occurred.

I am now having to transfer the recurring gift and all associated payments to the son's record. My question is how do you achieve this as the process for transferring gifts outlined in the user manual query source - export from source - import to target - delete gifts from source does not appear to work for recurring gifts, as when I import the gifts the system tells me that Recurring Gift - Pay Cash is not valid on a gift import so I have had to use Cash and have in effect lost the link to the recurring gift

Can you manually open each cash gift payment and apply it to recurring gift? 

I'd contact support to see if they can offer any suggestions.  Sort of an uncommon problem.
