Attendance at an event - how to code

We've invited several constituents to be our guests lunch/presentation at a city event. I want to record their attendance in RE. Is this best as an attribute or a note? We will likely have other such events that I would record so I would like a generic attribute category or note type that I could use for all (or most) events then use comments or other to classify which event.

I assume from your question you don't have the event module.

So, choices:

Actions - may be overkill

 Notes - too generic

Attributes - not really a "characterstic" of the constituent so I'd vote no

Appeals - those you invite get the appeal, then you can use appeal reponse for the replies (attended, declined, no anwer, etc.) - also, if you may realize some money from the event using the appeal makes sense

 Based on your description of 'several constituents' I'd look at recording it with an action. 

Notes can be tough to query if you're not consistent in data entry.  For us, attributes wouldn't be something we would use for just a few records.  Just doesn't fit right for us.
