Hello Raisers Edge users, One of our users has asked if there is a way to mark on Raisers Edge if a supporter has requested that all their Fundraising donations be restricted. And if it is possible for gifts added manually as well as by import to have this restriction automatically take place. I think i know the answer to this but always nice to double check. Thanks

With the basic RE7 package not really, and no.

You can set up some kind of code on the record and create a query that triggers a business rule to pop up to warn a gift processor that the donor has such a request. However nothing that I know if is automated. It would be up to the gift processor to enter it after seeing the business rule - and this would never happen if importing.

The only other thing I can think of is something with the VBA Module or API but I do not even know if with these extra modules and a programmer to make it happen, if that could be automated. Maybe.

One other option if this donor gives regularly the same amount on a schedule is maybe to set up a recurring gift. Then when the payment comes in you can be prompted during gift entry if you want to apply the payment to the recurring gift. If the gift processor does, then it will take the fund from the recurring gift. Again, this option will not work for imported gifts unless the import instructed that the payment was to go to the recurring gift.
