Hidden gift amount?

Options

We have a donor that is making a large gift.  She is comfortable with her name being tied to the gift, and getting recognition for it, but she does not want anyone outside a few key development staff to know how much she is giving.  Is there any way in RE to record the gift so that it counts on campaign reports, but does not allow either certain RE users (or all users, if that's necessary) to view the gift amount?  If it matters, this will be a planned gift, and we do have the planned giving module.

If she is comfortable with regognition - do you not do recognition by giving levels? When we say someone is comfortable with recognition, they will be recognized in our annual report based on the amount they gave. If not, what "recognition" IS she comfortable with?

You can add a special constituent code to the record and set group level security to only a few people (they need to be in a group) who cen even see her record. I think that this is a bit hokey because although they can't pull up the record and see it, I think (but am not 100% positive) it does still show on reports and users can set their own "anonymous" settings and get the name to show on the report. (I know there are issues with blocking gift viewing but if you leave in reporting they can see gifts on reports - not sure if this holds true for constituent code security).

If this is truly sensitive, you may want to create a special record that references a file that only the VP has that indicates who that donor really is. It is not a great way to do this because if staffing changes, that file can get "misplaced" and someday NO ONE has any clue who that donor is and they eventually get treated like an annual fund donor and not a MG prospect that they really are based on this one gift.

Thanks for your thoughts. I had forgotten about the constituency code security - that may be the way to go in this case.

We do recognize donors at different giving levels, but this gift is above the minimum threshold for our highest level.  Everyone will know that it's at least $X, but she doesn't want the exact dollar figure to be known.
