Importing Gifts from Greater Giving into Raiser's Edge

Options

We just completed our largest fundraiser of the year and we utilized Greater Giving for our guests. I have processed the gifts  in Greater Giving and need to enter them into RE. I know I can import the gifts, however, it is my understanding that it will NOT create a batch for this, it will just apply to the constiuents gift tab. Is there a way around this to assign it to a batch? Our finance department needs it all together and not entered individually.

 Thanks...Kim

The only way I know to import into batch is through Import-O-Matic. If you do not already have it you may want to consider it but that will likely not help you for this import.

I have never had a finance department insist on using batch. You can simply produce a report for your finance office that would easily summarize whatever they needed.

As Melissa said, you should be able to pull any info needed for finance in a report of gifts that you imported.  If it's your largest event, you certainly want to take advantage of short cuts.  If they 'must' be in a batch you could use the tool > group add constituents to batch but you'd still have to manually enter gift amounts/payment info.  Really a lot of extra work compared to importing the gifts.

By using gift # you can ensure that you're giving them complete list.  I'd sure see if they'd be willing to work with you on that.
