Constituent solicit codes with HIPPA

I was wondering if anyone has a good proccess for coding/entering/not entering constituents that would not like to be solicited in the future and are not in your database but they self identified as DNS from a patient mailing list you sent out?

 Ex. We send solicitations to patients, they are not in our database, they self identify as not wanting to get solicited again but we can't just not enter them and code them because they may come through the hospital again.

I create records like this all the time. People we solicit who are not in our database but ask to be put on the do not solicit list. I have to create a record to properly ensure they are not solicited in the future.

I am not sure what you see as far as HIPAA issues. I am not a HIPAA expert but I see no issue.

Thanks Melissa. I've asked BB to update my email a couple and they instead just created a duplicate profile and my old contact info is still on that, so I just received this.
