Position Purpose

The .NET Programmer will be responsible for the design, development and maintenance of web based applications, script based applications, reports, providing end user support, investigating and resolving application issues and more.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and maintain Web Applications in support of Fundraising initiatives
  • Utilize APIs that improve functionality and data flow between the Foundation's fundraising database system, online community, external data feeds and social networking sites.
  • Utilize best practice web-based standards and techniques.
  • Prepare design specifications / business requirements documents for applications.
  • Design, develop and maintain future Mobile Apps.
  • Create and maintain relational databases that integrate with applications.
  • Ensure code / data integrity between applications and databases.
  • Implement best practice security measures across applications to protect and prevent against application vulnerabilities, hackers and intruders.
  • Support/Assist/Train FSU's other fundraising organizations on best practices.
  • Develop and maintain the Foundation's website and portal servers.
  • Assists the Department of Informational Services with other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum of 4 years of programming and web development experience.
  • Strong aptitude for diagnosing end user problems, identifying and implementing solutions
  • Technical skills in the following areas required:
    • HTML, XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, ASP.NET (C# and VB)
    • .NET Framework 3.0 or higher
    • IIS 6.0 or higher
    • Microsoft Visual Studio
    • SQL Server 2005 or higher
    • Strong SQL scripting (T-SQL) capabilities with a strong understanding of stored procedures, database design and normalization
  • Technical skills in the following areas preferred:
    • Blackbaud Net Community (BBNC)
    • Experience with APIs including (3rd party APIs, Facebook API, etc.)
    • Microsoft SharePoint 2007 or higher
    • Mobile app development
