Can Raiser's Edge automatically update receipt date when issuing a replacement receipt?

Options
Hi there, How can we set Raiser's edge to update new issued receipt date when reissuing/reprinting a replacement receipt? It only shows the previously issued receipt date unless I manually enter a new date. Is there a way to change the setting? Thanks, Amy

Can I assume you are talking about the date automatically generated when receipt is created using Mail > Receipts?  Are you going in and changing "Receipted" to "Not receipted" so that you can issue replacement receipt?  If so, just clear the receipt date field at the same time and it will then auto fill with date you are running replacement receipt (again assuming you are using Mail > Receipts).  Even if your field is being populated by an gift import or global change in some way, you'll just need to clear the field before running.

I know of no way to change that setting.  Do you issue a huge # of replacement receipts that this is really an issue for you?

Just went back to see your org and see you're in Canada.  From what I've read on the forums you have an entirely different set of regulations when it comes to receipts/receipt #s etc.  Are you sure you don't need the original date and receipt # too?

Like I said I know of no way to change setting but hopefully other users in Canada can verify what data you need to maintain.

    Hi JoAnn,

Thanks for your reply! My apologies for my brief question. Yes I work for Canadian organization and my organization uses Mail > Reprint Receipt for replacement receipt, so It will assign new receipt number without the need to change "receipted" to "not receipted," and I don't normally remove original receipt date before I reprint a new receipt number. I realized that after I reprint a new receipt number, the receipt date still shows the original receipt date, which will also show in receipt history so as for tracking purpose of the original receipt information, that would be enough. I've tested that if I remove the receipt date before I reprint, it will auto fill with the date when I am running replacement receipt. But for issuing replacement receipt for recurring pay cash, It will be a hassle to remove receipt date from those recurring pay cash one by one, so just wondering if there's a setting to auto fill new receipt date without manually removing previous receipt date.

    Any suggestion would be helpful!

    Thanks,

    Amy

:)  Learn something new every day.  You as Canadian org have a function we don't.  "Reprint receipt"   If you don't get a response from another person working in Canada who knows about this option, I'd sure check with support.

Amy - if this does not exist yet - be sure to go to the RE Discovery site and add it as a suggestion for change to the reprint receipt functionality (which seems to not be in the US version).
