The Trustees of Reservations seek a strategic, energetic, and highly motivated development professional to join our Advancement team. Reporting to the Chief Development Officer, the Director of Annual Leadership Giving is responsible for leading a comprehensive annual giving program focused on building operating support for The Trustees of Reservations.  The Annual Giving program is a highly personalized and multi-channeled program that includes personalized solicitations, a high level of volunteer involvement, and the creation and execution of meaningful points of engagement for our donors. This position requires superior communication and leadership skills, as well as the desire to be part of a team-oriented environment.Essential Functions
  • Manage and lead all aspects of a $3,000,000 Annual Giving program.
  • Develop yearly program plan, and implement innovative strategies to meet and exceed revenue goals.
  • Lead, mentor and inspire Annual Giving and Events staff.
  • Create meaningful points of engagement for donors, including regular stewardship events.
  • Serve as the primary staff liaison for the organization's Annual Giving committees and other volunteer groups.
  • Coordinate all annual giving solicitations with the Major Gifts team.
  • Work with Senior Advancement Team and all staff to identify and steward potential donors and volunteers.

  • Ability to communicate through multiple levels of an organization, and to work collaboratively with colleagues, members, donors and volunteers.
  • Detail oriented with ability to plan and execute an overall development plan, including direct mail and personal solicitation.
  • Ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Commitment to the mission of The Trustees and the principles of diversity and inclusion.
Qualifications & Work Experience
  • A bachelor's degree and a minimum of 7 years in a fast paced Advancement Office, with experience managing a successful annual giving program.
  • Proven ability to manage and grow an annual giving program.
  • A strong record of supervisory experience and working with leadership volunteers.
  • Experience managing successful stewardship events.
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office.  Experience with Raiser's Edge required.  Experience with Convio e-customer relationship management systems a plus.
 

This is a full-time exempt position based at the Long Hill offices in Beverly, Massachusetts. Travel (reimbursed) using a personal vehicle is required in carrying out the essential duties and responsibilities.  Some night and occasional weekend work required.
