Serving the community since 1975, Community First Foundation (CFF) improves quality of life in the seven-county metropolitan Denver community by using our resources to fund vital community initiatives, support nonprofit organizations, and assist individuals with charitable giving. We help donors support charitable causes through planned giving and Donor Advised Funds and offer grants, fund management and fundraising education to nonprofits.

Reporting to the Grants & Donor Services Manager, the primary responsibilities of the Grants & Gifts Coordinator are to provide administrative and programmatic support to Community First Foundation's fundraising and grant making programs. This will include performing the following duties:

GRANT PROGRAMS

  • Provide administrative support to the Foundation's grant making programs including receipt, logging, tracking, and reviewing grant applications for completion. Accurately generate new grant records in GrantedGE grants database and work with the finance department to ensure timely distribution of grant payments. Track reporting requirements through closure of grants
  • Assist in providing technical assistance to prospective grantees in the preparation and submission of grant applications with a high level of customer service

DONOR SERVICES

  • Accurately enter and maintain donor, prospect, gift and other associated records in the Raiser's Edge donor database
  • Process gifts received through the Foundation's online giving program, GivingFirst.org and prepare monthly disbursement reports
  • Prepare and send gift acknowledgement letters and other correspondence
  • Assist donors and other constituents with a high level of customer service in support of the Foundation's philanthropic programs

FOUNDATION-WIDE

  • Assist in the production of accurate and timely gift and grant reports for both internal and external uses and help prepare and organize information for the board of directors, board committees, and advisory committees as necessary
  • Review and troubleshoot processes, offer recommendations for improvement, and implement changes. Oversee written documentation of internal gift and grant making processes and procedures
  • Generate mailing lists for Foundation staff, and create donor and grant listings for Community Benefit Report

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent professional experience
  • 1-3 years of professional or volunteer experience with a nonprofit agency. Familiarity with the metro Denver nonprofit community
  • MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.). Experience with Raiser's Edge/Blackbaud software or similar database experience preferred
  • Ability to multitask effectively and meet deadlines
  • Possesses highly accurate data entry skills
