Hi folks!

We're about to undergo c4 fundraising, but it's new to me. Would anyone be willing to chat with me about data best practices?

Thanks in advance,

Autumn

    1) the c4 donations are not tax deductible so you're going to want different receipt language.

    2) I would give them their own fund in your database. If finance is going to separate them, then you're all set. If not, I would create a sub-fund and point the journal info to where finance wants it. The benefit is that you can easily pull them in or out of reports.

    3) you may need to add a new solicit code (I.e., DNS - C4) for those who aren't interested in funding lobbying but still want to support your organization.

    4) you may want to add C4 to your philanthropic interest table. This ties to the prospect tab and is helpful for corporate/foundation inclusion/exclusion although you can use it with individuals too.

Thanks so much, Elizabeth. I've heard from some coworkers that there are some odd limitations - needing to record employment info, not accepting anonymous contributions above $99, etc. Do you know of a good resource that lists all of the requirements?
