As promised at Summit 2008, here are the Convio interactions that the Facebook App can report out on mini-feed and news-feed

  • Hey James,

Thanks very much for posting this. A couple questions:

    a) I notice storybuilder is not in this list. Is there a reason? I've not tested it of late, but it had happened before.

    b) Could you explain under what circumstances the interactions will be reported? I think it is that the user has added the application in facebook, and that the user has logged in from the facebook application (and creating a link between the convio and facebook accounts). Is there any other condition that has to be fufilled for the reporting to occur (ex: do they have to have clicked on a link from the facebook application? I think the answer is no, but not 100% sure).

    Adrian,

Good point. StoryBuilder is not in there yet, but a StoryBuilder article will be pushed, based on certain criteria. Our earlier thread (http://community.customer.convio.com/message/1733#1733) covers this.Basically, if a constituent posts a StroyBuilder article, the interaction of doing so will not be reported into Facebook, but the story itself might be pushed into Facebook based on the criteria laid out in that other thread.

To answer your second question, the report of the interactions will be pushed to Facebook (mini-feed, news-feed, counts within the application canvas pages and the fb_ref page) once the action has been done. So, the first action anyone can do is add the app. This action will be reported in Facebook even if the user has not ever been logged into both Facebook and the Convio powered site at the same time. Other than that, you described it perfectly, " I think it is that the user has added the application in facebook, and

that the user has logged in from the facebook application (and creating

a link between the convio and facebook accounts)."
